Five Things 04

Unknown

It’s been a long time since I have a stretch of time where I don’t know what will happen in the near future. Since I finished school a few years ago all I’ve done is work and play, and not really worried about anything. Now here I am getting ready to take a group fitness instructor exam in few weeks and it’s mildly stressful! Will I pass the first time? Will I do well on my audition for the gig I want? Will I be offered a position? What will my new schedule look like? How will I make time for the things I care about? Allll things running through my mind as of late. I know I will be ok and things will work out the way they are meant to, but until then I’ll just be a worry wart!

Wife Swap

My boss has been gone for over three weeks now and it feels like an eternity. It reminds me of the show wife swap where two families switch wives just to stir the other families pot, did you ever watch that? I remember my mom watching it when I was little and thinking the married husband and wife running towards each other at the end of the show was a little dramatic, but at this point I would do anything to have my boss back from her month plus long vacay! I have no problem being told what to do as an employee by my boss, but right now I have multiple people telling me what to do (that are not my boss) on a daily basis with conflicting information and it’s overwhelming. One more week of this! I can do it.

Early Bird Ge-

Well, you know the saying. I’ve been going to the gym before work for over a year now. Woot! Woot! But that’s all about to change for a little while. My boss is out of town for a month and has divvied up her responsibilities between the therapy team. Unfortunately, she left the 9:00am daily meeting to me. Did I mention daily?! So, I’ll be switching up my workouts to the late afternoon and see how that works out for me.

Vivian the Triathlete

One of the first ever blog posts I published on this website in 2017 had some “fun facts” about me. I’ll be honest here, I don’t know what they all are, but without referencing that blog post I know one fact still stands true. That is – I am most proud of my athletic accomplishments above all else.

I can’t quite put my finger on what it is exactly, but perhaps it’s a deep sense of pride somewhere. My spirit oozes gratefulness to my physical body for pushing itself to do things it was not born to do.

Travel Diary: San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

It’s been just over a week since I have been back from San Miguel de Allende and I feel like I’m still trying to catch up on daily duties in Dallas, but in a good way! I am so glad I got to be part of a friend’s special day in Mexico, as it gave me a reason to explore the charming little town that is San Miguel de Allende. The long weekend flew by but I’m excited to share the little parts of it that I had the privilege to explore.

My LASIK Eye Surgery Experience

Twenty years ago I started wearing glasses. I was a little girl and it makes me sad to say that I don’t have any memories without my “four eyes.” I’m thankful I was never teased, though I do have bad memory, so maybe I was made fun of? That was a long time ago though, but all that to say that the last few years with glasses have been the worst. So, I finally decided to do something about it!

Travel Diary: Nashville, TN

Now that I’ve been to Nashville I can say I finally understand what all the hype is about! The Music City was my good gal’s destination for her bachelorette party and boy was it a good time. I feel like I lucked out getting to go with such a fun group! If possible, make the trip with a small clan of your own – bonus if they enjoy country music. Highlights of the bachelorette weekend below.
