What I Wear to Work: Barco Uniforms

The first pair of scrubs I ever owned were Grey’s Anatomy Signature by Barco Uniforms. Little did I know I’d become obsessed with Barco Uniforms and their Grey’s Anatomy Signature line.

It’s all I wear to work and I’ve been an ambassador for Barco since writing this blog post about my 9-5 back in October 2018. Being an ambassador and representing a company is cool and all, but getting invited to the brand’s 90th Anniversary event for retailers was such an incredible experience!

The #BarcoBrigade was comprised of ten healthcare professionals (all content creators) that included a few nurses, a veterinarian, medical school student, physicians assistant, and yours truly (a speech-language therapist). It was an honor to be part of this small group of women representing the brand at Barco’s 90th Anniversary event.

Getting to know other healthcare professionals and what they do was a blast! Here are some highlights we shared from that weekend:

Photoshoot: I take photos in jeans, heels, dresses and such, but taking photos in scrubs was WAY comfy. The ambassadors were photographed wearing the Fall 2019 collection, available to shop now here.

Fashion show: Models strutted in Barco Uniform scrubs from the 1920’s to today’s fashion forward styles and colors. The fashion show was highly entertaining and I learned so much about the brands fabrics and colors for each scrub line.

Barco Headquarters Tour: Barco is a family owned business. I had a chance to speak with owner Michael Donner, several times over the weekend and hear how passionate he was about his business. Touring the HQ was the cherry on top! I left with some random but fun facts for you:

  • 50-80k items are shipped on a daily basis
  • 2-3k packages are shipped per day
  • 3.5 million units are at Barco HQ at all times

Connecting with other healthcare professionals and bonding over our love for Barco was an experience I will never forget. I hope you enjoyed this recap of Barco’s 90th Anniversary Event!
