Can you believe it?! I’m still accidentally calling Jeff my boyfriend even as of today. And just last week I cried in our kitchen, just overwhelmed with gratitude for where I am in life. Me and Jeff have looked forward to this time for a while now and it feels like we’ve finally arrived. So I’m here reveling in post proposal bliss!
The Plan
A few months back Jeff added a family weekend to our calendar (we’re both BIG on planning ahead). His brother hasn’t been able to visit Dallas in a couple years so we wanted to make a deal of it. To celebrate, Jeff made a reservation at the Capital Grille restaurant in Hotel Crescent Court.
The Proposal
I got dressed for our evening out in Dallas and we headed to the hotel. Jeff held my hand walking through the hotel lobby then looks at me, “have you figured it out yet?” I sort of had an idea where the restaurant was, and I gestured towards it. Then Jeff gestured in the opposite direction toward flower petals and flower arrangements. It all happened so fast! I was so surprised! Next thing I know the man of my dreams was down on one knee. I said YES!
The photographer Jeff hired captured everything. After I said yes we had an engagement shoot in the Hotel Crescent courtyard and enjoyed a little more of the champagne we had opened in celebration. The photographer left and it was just the two us! We smiled and laughed until I remembered we had kept his brother waiting at the restaurant. Only for Jeff to say he was never coming into town! His parents live in the area so we agreed to stop by for a cocktail before heading out to dinner just the two of us.
The Dinner
We opened the door to the voices of fifteen SURPRISEs! I was immediately brought to tears. Jeff planned to have my mom and siblings in town and to say it was special would be an underestatment. The four of us siblings hadn’t been together in nearly four years. We took some photos with my family, the Williams family, and all together for the first time. It was the most beautiful evening I could have ever asked for. I am so thankful to have such a thoughtful fiancé!
Now let’s go plan ourselves a wedding!
XO,
Vivian
