One freaking forty!!! I have so much to say.
An Honest Prolon Review
First and foremost, this isn’t sponsored in any way. I’ve seen lots of people in my Instagram circle post wonderful things about Prolon so I thought Black Friday was a good time to finally buy and give it a try (hey, that rhymed!).
Me and my BFF were talking about Prolon a month or so ago and decided this would be something fun to do together. I know I know, our definitions of fun are all a little different. I’m a full grown adult and I don’t need to be supervised, but having someone to text and complain to is kind of nice.
Vivian the Triathlete
One of the first ever blog posts I published on this website in 2017 had some “fun facts” about me. I’ll be honest here, I don’t know what they all are, but without referencing that blog post I know one fact still stands true. That is – I am most proud of my athletic accomplishments above all else.
I can’t quite put my finger on what it is exactly, but perhaps it’s a deep sense of pride somewhere. My spirit oozes gratefulness to my physical body for pushing itself to do things it was not born to do.
My Activewear Edit
No better time to spruce up my activewear than in the middle of quarantine when that’s all I’m wearing, right? This tie dye look showed up on my doorstep as one of 7 other workout-ready items.
Travel Diary: Mount Massive
This blog post is finally here! Two months later, but it’s here! I was talking to someone a few weeks ago and mentioned I hiked a mountain with an elevation of 14,429′ and she stopped me before I could go on and enthusiastically said, “you did a fourteener?!” That’s when I realized what I did was actually a pretty big feat!
A flight to Denver was booked after dinner with Michael one night. We decided we would hike and I let him, the first-time hiker, research where we would go. Looking back now, it was a terrible idea! But hey, I’m alive and here with a story to tell.
Diet + Exercise COVID-19 Style
Hello there, August! I say that as the month is coming to an end, but it just comes and goes faster than I can say “coronavirus is the worst.” Ha! Speaking of the virus, remember when we were told not to wear masks? I nearly giggle at how much life has changed since March!
Outdoor Climbing in New Mexico
Yes, that’s ME climbing. I can’t believe it either! Before I get to the climb, here’s a quick story of how I, a girly gal, ended up rock climbing.
It may not look like it and I may not act like it, but I actually enjoy the outdoors. Something about fresh air and wide open spaces makes my heart skip a beat. Dallas is a great city for a lot of things, but lacks outdoor activity. A paved running trail, park between highways, and rooftop bars are as “outdoorsy” as it gets in Big D. No shame! I love it here! It just means I have had to fill my nature cup elsewhere.
40 Day Yoga Challenge and Beyond
My first yoga class EVER was August last year. I went to Black Swan Yoga as an instructors guest and bought a yoga mat right before class. I was excited and had no clue what to expect. For example, I didn’t know I was getting myself into a hot yoga class, much less a powerful flow class. It was intense! The one hour class kept going and going and… you get the point. I thought it would never end. But then, at end of class we collectively took a few oms before ending the practice with savasana (corpse pose). There, in the last few minutes of class, is when all the hard work made sense. So I came back the next day and got myself a membership at Black Swan Yoga.
How I Ran a Half Marathon Unprepared
I apologize for the lack of photos here! It was an exhausting weekend, and photos were the furthest thing from my mind, but I hope my fellow runners enjoy this post 🙂
(Charming) Workout Vibes
Knowing me, there is a 0% chance I would walk out of a workout with my hair and makeup still intact. BUT, let’s pretend I don’t sweat so I can fill you in on my latest loves.
I was home in south Texas a couple weekends ago and my sister took me to the most ginormous shoe store ever (ok fine, 2nd to DSW). It was unexpected, but we walked into Skechers. My mom and both sisters all own at least two pairs of Skechers. Why they never invited me into this shoe club? I have no clue! I tried on way too many shoes and was a immediately a fan of the brand. Let’s just say I was strolling down the aisles with a little more pep in my step.
Finally, this cute little pink pair came home with me. They’re so easy to slip into and almost a step of relief whenever I put them on. All of Skechers shoes are designed with comfort in mind so it’s no surprise that I’m already looking at these for my next purchase!
What is your go-to comfy shoe? Let me know in a comment below!
