It’s a new year! Holy moly where did the time go?! I hear people say this all the time and I hate to be that person again, but I am not the same person I was one year ago. Life can be a little predictable, right? We get into routines, we know certain things will happen, but 2019 was new and challenging. More on that HERE if you’re interested, but this blog post is all about resolutions!
Run again
Long before I dreamed and wished I was at yoga more, I ran a lot. Running made me feel strong and unbreakable. Runner’s high was definitely a thing for me, and I just miss my entire running routine! I can’t see myself training for another half marathon this year, but I would love to run again in 2020 and I’d be happy if I could make it to the trail 1-2x/week.
UPDATE: LOL running did not happen in 2020! I ran maybe 20 times tops? When the virus happened in the spring I made an attempt at running, but I preferred power walking because the weather was so beautiful. My knees took a beating after July’s 14er hike (more on that trip HERE) and running was out of the question.
There was some progress on this in 2019 even though it wasn’t a resolution for me. I forgot how much I enjoyed reading, but I joined a book club and had so much fun! I read a physical book the first go around and for the second book club I completely cheated and listened to an audible. Terrible, I know! No audibles this year, and no outrageous reading goals either, but I hope to read 4 books in 2020.
UPDATE: I’m so disappointed in myself! I should have done this one for sure given that we spent so much time at home over the spring/summer. I’ll wiggle myself out of this one and say that I continued to show up to my place of work and life didn’t change much for me in 2020. Maybe next time!
Budget
Don’t get me wrong, I pay my bills and I’m organized, but there are things I want to accomplish and keeping a budget would help me significantly. 2020 will be the year I spend less on *insert things I don’t need* so that I can focus my attention on more important financial goals.
UPDATE: I didn’t work hard on this one at all. March came around with the virus and I suddenly spent significantly less with restaurants and bars out of the picture. I’d say that even though I didn’t budget, 2020 was still a good year for me financially.
I already know these three resolutions will be hard for me to keep this year. What’s one resolution you think you’ll have trouble with in 2020? Let me know in a comment below!
