The first girls trip to Fredericksburg was such a hit I decided to plan another, this time to Palm Springs with a couple new faces! Palm Springs was an easy destination to choose – everything everywhere is photo ready and I was craving heat at the start of summer. The sweet desert city delivered both!
See
I should’ve known better than to try to squeeze in so many places to “see” with a group of five girls, but I gave it a shot! If you’re traveling with a smaller group, all of these can easily be seen on a weekend trip.
Bike Ride: How I managed to ride my bike and navigate a group of 5 on my phone, I don’t know but I pulled it off somehow. The girls were not feeling the bike ride, but were so happy when we got to our final destination – the mid-century modern neighborhood with the Pink Door! Our bike ride was a short 15 minutes
Tahquitz Canyon Hike: The hike is a quick 1.7 miles and considered strenuous, but coming from a healthy twenty something, it was fairly easy. Halfway through the trail I made it to a beautiful waterfall, worth the little huffing and puffing I did to get there. The views were incredible! I hiked this alone before my flight and it was the highlight of my entire trip. I highly recommend this 45 minute hike one morning of any trip to Palm Springs!
Moorten Botanical Garden: On the itinerary, but didn’t make it. It’s a must!
Salvation Mountain: Again, another place I would have loved to see. It’s a 1.5 hour drive out of Palm Springs and looks worth the drive.
Stay
All swimwear photos were taken at our GORGEOUS Airbnb! The girls loved the mid-century modern vibes and the spacious home. Five girls spread out between 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms was a dream. We also had a small backyard and a stunning pool in our front yard! You can check out our exact Airbnb here.
During the booking process for this trip I saw so many places get booked up even 6 weeks ahead of time. If you love a place, book it! That being said, there are so many other beautiful properties in Palm Springs, but I’d say having a pool is an absolute must no matter where you stay.
Dine
Finding a restaurant that’s half decent was easy around Palm Springs. Nearly every place had great yelp reviews. As I’ve mentioned in other blog posts, I’m not a foodie so I don’t have strong opinions on any restaurants, but here’s were we dined:
- Norma’s at Parker Palm Springs
- Azucar – beautiful bar!
- Chi Chi at Avalon Hotel
- Purple Palm at Colony Palms Hotel
- King’s Highway & The Amigo Room
- Jake’s – easily my favorite meal of all the places!
Pro tip: make reservations at least a week before or you’ll find yourself scrambling like we did
I hope you find my travel diary useful for your next girls trip to Palm Springs!
